The Northern Territory Government has allocated $ 5.5 million for an integrated Child and Family Centre at Larapinta Primary School. The co-location of this facility with the primary school provides a seamless and supported education pathway through preschool and Transition to primary school, and provides a stronger whole school community for students, families and staff.
The Larapinta Child and Family Centre will provide 70 new long day childcare places and will help to meet the growing need for child care in Alice Springs for children aged 0-5 years. The centre will see early childhood and care services combined with targeted support services such as parent education, family support programs and allied health and wellbeing services, particularly for families with complex support needs. It is expected to be fully operational and ready to welcome students in July 2016.
